So, why do we get drunk? I could get all philosophical, but the reason is, the reason I like it, is we like it. It's awesome. You feel all... free. Like you can joke or think without worries. Not that our worries are anything substantial, but you know, they feel like it. So, I guess I'm going to be completely honest. Not really interesting for you... :) Yes, I put smiley faces into everything. My husband of almost 2 years is asleep (have to shout out that we've been together almost 8 years). Me, I'm... happy. But bored of course. Not ready to quit, not ready to stop.
In highschool and college they alwasy said write no matter what you're feeling. And it honestly feels good to just sit here and not care... in fact I'm refilling my glass! Moment by moment documentation is what you get from Blog of a Drunk Girl.
So, I'm sure you don't want some big life story. You just want today. (I still don't know who "you" is, probably nobody). But today work got a snow day. Yes... a snow day. I live in Nashville, TN. There was some serious ice and snow today but I was still surprised to be told to stay home from work. Obviously, you don't have to be told twice since working from home is basically a day off, but still I was shocked...
I felt guilty right away, I even tried to go into the office to at least get the sufficient work I needed to get through the day at home. After half an hour in traffic and being told off by my mother and one of my best friends I went home. The thing is, it wasn't so bad. I mean I grew up in Chicago! I am feeling some major guilt!
I work a lot. Many late nights. I won't say what I do, but I work for a non-profit agency. It's very time conumsing, but I love it, which of couse my husband does not understand.
Anyway, tonight I made Shepard's Pie for dinner. (I realize this is a major change of subject but I love food). I'm on weight watchers due to being... fat. So I made this WW (that stands for Weight Watchers) Shepard's Pie. It was good. Never as satisyfiying due to it being diet, but sustainable.
My husband, the little bitch, works out nearly everday so he can eat whatever he wants. It's so annoying. Me, I work most of the day, come home, cook him dinner, clean up, take a little relaxation time, and never work out. <-- Okay excuses, I know. Women with more on their plate than me make it happen, but you bitches (while I admire you) are not the bitches I want to be talking to! I want to talk to women who the second they are through the door fell the rush. Your husband vying for attention, your dog jumping on you, the need for you to do things for them- and you LOVE it, you just don't have time to do that and look beautiful... I mean I still look cute, but beautiful and thin... uh no!
Sometimes I read until 1 a.m., just to have some time to myself, and then of course not so may hours later, it starts again...
I'm not complaining, just sharing. I believe that I am one of the luckiest human beings on the face of the planet. That doesn't mean I am the most well adjusted though... :)
If only you could see me... I am a very cute but about 50 lbs overweight woman. I got my husband about 8 years and 50 lbs ago. He looks the same. He works a well paying job that hates. I work a horrible paying job that I love. Both of our favorite nights include being together...
Is anyone interseted in this?
